The protagonist, Van, travels the world searching for a mysterious man with a clawed right hand who killed his bride. He is joined by several other travelers along the way, each linked to the clawed man by a personal loss. Gradually they find the makings of a plot that will shake the foundations of the world they live on.
Gun X Sword is set on the 'Planet of Endless Illusion'; a place where rogues of all sorts gather. The world itself has one moon orbiting it, and has a general technical level of modern Earth, with a few exceptions, such as humanoid combat suits called 'Armors'. The overall culture has a 'wild west' feel to it, with general lawlessness in the more rural areas and large expanses of wilderness

Main characters

Van

A tall, lanky wanderer of few words clad in a dark swallowtail suit. Most who pass him by seem to think he's half-asleep, as his speech is slow, laconic, and unhurried. However, when hearing news referring to the clawed man, his disposition shifts to extreme anger. He acquires many titles throughout his travels.

Wendy Garret

Van's first traveling companion who joins him in episode 1 in search of her missing brother Michael, after he saves her town from bandits. Although somewhat naive she is compassionate and determined, often wanting to assist those they meet in contrast to Van's 'leave everyone to him/herself'.
She carries her Brother's gun which she retrieved from some townspeople after his kidnapping. It only contains one bullet.

Carmen 99

A mysterious and self-sufficient intelligence agent/mercenary who Van encounters in episode 2, her real name is Carol Mendosa.

Ray Lundgren

A withdrawn and ruthless Armor pilot whose wife was killed by the Man with the claw hand; he first appears in episode 5 but is opposed at first to Van.

Joshua Lundgren

Ray's younger brother, he's upbeat, talkative and sociable. His main asset is his technical skill, being able to repair numerous everyday items, analyze armor weaknesses, and even setup timed explosives.

Pricilla

A pink-haired girl who first meet Van during an armor tournament and later joins his company on their quest.

The Claw Man

A mastermind and the primary antagonist. He killed both Van's and Ray's wives and is the subject of their hatred.

Michael Garret

Wendy's older brother, who voluntarily follows the Clawed Man, and willingly believes in him as a leader, despite the fact that he was kidnapped from his hometown of 'Evergreen' and taken to the Claw Man.

ARMORS
One of the biggest differences in the world of Gun Swordis the use of multi-storey suits called 'Armors'. These are generally humanoid in design, and are primarily used for combat. Below are listed some of the most noteworthy ones.

Metal Glow

The armor appeared in episode 2, and resembled a battleship with a vast humanoid torso attached. Metal Glow was commanded by Baron Mayor of the bridge city in order to conquer the world. Its main attacks were the use of its gigantic arms and the Regulus Cannon, a turret that sprayed molten metal over its opponents. Van managed to destroy Metal Glow by throwing Dann's sword through into the regulus cannon then used his foot to push on it sending the sword through the centre and back out the other side.

S-Drive Dragon

First appeared in episode 8, the S-Drive Dragon resembles a metallic Chinese dragon. As well as being able to hover through the air, it used a powerful water-jet cutter from its mouth and a constricting attack to overcome any who tried to cross the mountains where it lay. The S-Drive designation referred to a set of solar panels on the spine of the dragon that would store energy from the sun. When the dragon was finally defeated, Van and Ray discover that the armor was unmanned; the pilot had died inside long ago.
Van's team is ambushed by a pair of automated Dragons when they attempt to pass through the underwater tunnel leading to the Claw Man's base. These two dragons are armed differently, as instead of using the hydro cutter of the first dragon they attack primarily with a pair of head mounted beam cannons. These two were dispatched by Brownie and Eldora Soul.
Finally, a fourth Dragon armor is used by Mudaka's rebel force as they try to escape from the Claw Man. It also attacks using the twin beam cannons, as well as unleashing a missile barrage against Saudade of Sunday from multiple back-mounted launchers. Mudaka's Dragon was destroyed by Michael during this encounter.

Golden Cradle

After Van sees through Joe's deception in episode 7, Joe summons Golden Cradle to do battle against Dann. Golden Cradle looks like a large medieval knight, with a massive cross-bearing shield and large lance as its primary armaments. Its face is half-covered by a golden helmet, the other half revealing a robotic skull face. Despite its heavily armored appearance, the Golden Cradle is reasonably agile and able to duel with Dann to some degree.
After slicing open Joe's outer cockpit, Van manages to severely wound the Golden Cradle by blinding Joe with a well-reflected beam of sunlight and slashing through the armor's shield in the confusion. Joe self-destructs Golden Cradle, however, depriving Van of any information regarding the Claw Man.
The Golden Cradle design is seen again when Van's team journeys to the Claw Man's secret base. Several automated green colored versions, called One-on-Ones, form the outer defense line of the Claw Man's facilities. The One-on-One version is armed with a set of shield-mounted machine guns in addition to its large melee lance. Their autopilot is seemingly crude and predictable, as Priscilla is able to anticipate its movements and destroy them handily.

Vulcan

Armed primarily with a long-range automatic rifle and a pressurized single-shot pistol, Vulcan was designed to be a ranged attacker. In contrast to Van's sword-slashing technique to call down Dan, Ray's is summoned by firing his gun in a circle around himself at the ground. Vulcan's armored drilling carrier then homes in on Ray's location and delivers the armor to the battlefield. Its noted that Vulcan's weapon system served as a basis for the beam weapons upgrades of the Original Seven armors. (The 5 Originals with the beam weapons weren't built with them originally, they were upgrades the claw man had added to them.)
Vulcan is shrouded in what appears to be simple cloth cape. Although it seems to be just a mere mecha fashion accessory, the cape is actually a specially designed beam-spreading coat that can absorb the energy from incoming beam attacks. This protection allows Vulcan to fight effectively against the long ranged attacks of the Original Seven armors.

Brownie

Brownie is a highly maneuverable pink armor that is controlled through a unique interface system. Its pilot plugs in to a port in the rear of the cockpit, allowing Brownie's movements to mimic that of the pilot's physical actions. This interface system is reminiscent of the neural interface used by the Original Seven armors.
During Priscilla's initial encounter with Van during the Armor Battle Tournament, Brownie is only armed with a single weapon: the Fairy's Stab. This consists of an elongated armor-piercing spike that is stored on Brownie's left elbow. Priscilla's usual course of action in a match is to carefully analyze her opponent's attack patterns, find an opening, and swoop in for a crippling strike using the Fairy's Stab. Van was able to nullify this attack by using Dann's secondary blade to cut through the tip of the spike.

Gensomaden Saiyuki

Gensomaden Saiyuki is a story that's very loosely based on the Chinese epic Hsi Yu Chi or "Journey to the West," sometimes entitled "Monkey." It follows the adventures of four extraordinary individuals: a godless, remorseless young priest called Genjo Sanzo; a powerful, innocent, playful creature named Son Goku; a handsome, womanizing hooligan named Sha Gojyo; and a courteous, mild-mannered murderer called Cho Hakkai.

Main Characters

Genjo Sanzo

Genjō-Sanzō-hōshi, Pinyin:is one of the four main characters in the manga and anime series Saiyūki (Known as Gensōmaden Saiyūki in Japan). His name is spelled Genjō-Sanzō in the English anime and the Singapore English manga, while in the North American English manga it is Genjyō-Sanzō (the -jō is spelt in hiragana as ji-yo-u). In the anime, he is voiced by Seki Toshihiko.

The title Sanzō, meaning "three baskets" (Tripitaka in Sanskrit), is the formal term for a Buddhist canon of scriptures, as well as the title of a high-ranking Buddhist monk. Hence, Genjō-Sanzō (even though he doesn't seem like one) is also a high ranking monk.

His character is loosely based on that of the monk Xuánzàng-Sānzàng, from the Chinese novel Journey to the West upon which the manga is based. In the manga, Sanzō is featured with blond hair and purple eyes. Having lost his father-figure (Koumyou Sanzo) to demons (yōkai), he is a brutal, worldly priest, who carries a gun (Smith and Wesson), excessively smokes (Marlboros), drinks (anything alcoholic), often abusing his traveling companions, except Cho Hakkai, verbally and physically. When others ask who his travelling companions are, his common response is, "They are not my disciples. They are my servants."

Sanzō's chosen weapons are the magical Maten Sutra which holds great power, even subduing Son Gokū when his power limiter came off and went berserk; a handgun, as previously mentioned; and a paper fan (harisen) for idiots (Gojyō and Gokū included). His favorite phrases, incidentally, are "Die!", "I'll kill you!" and "Shut up!" (used when Gokū and Gojyō argue, the last phrase is used rarely to silence Hakkai).

Sanzō is egotistical, haughty, and sometimes cruel, but he also has calm judgement, unwavering intensity, and surprising charisma.

Sanzō's parentage is unknown, as he was found floating down the Yangtze river as a baby, and was raised under the name Kōryū ("river-flow") by his teacher, Kōmyo-Sanzō. Kōmyo-Sanzō once told him that he had called out to him inside his mind.

Kōryū was promoted to his rank as Sanzō when he was only 13, given the title by his teacher. He left his monastery in which he was raised to search for the Seitan Sutra that was stolen the night his teacher was killed. He carries the scars of his childhood because his teacher was killed trying to protect him (whenever it rains, he grows moody, often reflecting on his past). This is karmically ironic, as he is sent on a mission to stop the very people who were responsible for the murder of his master some ten years after that event.

Sanzō found Gokū one day while walking through the mountains because a voice kept calling out for him. When Sanzō could not take it anymore, he went to search for the source of the voice, to hit the person and tell them to shut up. He finally came to a cave on the top of a mountain that resembled a jail and sitting inside was Gokū. Sanzō remembered his teacher's words about being the sun of someone else's life and that moved him to take in Gokū at the temple where he lived. Though he acts like he doesn't care, he is extremely attached to the little monkey and gets angry when Gokū is in danger. The same goes for Gokū, who almost worships Sanzō for rescuing him. In the original story, Gokū was supposed to be Sanzō's errant, loyal disciple, albeit a hot-headed one.

Cho Hakkai (豬八戒 Cho Hakkai) is a fictional character in the manga and anime Saiyuki. Cho Hakkai is the mild, polite and level-headed member of the group who always looks out for their day to day wellbeing. He takes on the more feminine roles: cooking, cleaning up after everyone, making sure their supplies are in order, and solving (or at least calming down) the arguments and yelling matches that happen frequently. He is also their healer, his kikou jutsu (chi manipulation/Qigong) coming in handy in battle in the form of ki blasts and protective barriers.

Cho Hakkai

Hakkai is very fond of sake, but never gets drunk no matter how much he consumes. He is extremely good at poker as well. His pet dragon, named Hakuryu, turns into a green jeep and serves as their mode of transportation. Hakkai usually drives with Genjo Sanzo in the passenger seat, and Son Goku and Sha Gojyo in the back. He wears a monocle over his nearly blind right eye, and on his left ear he wears three metal clips which are youkai (yōkai) limiters, keeping his power and form in check. Unlike Goku, Hakkai has more control over his transformation, and has been able to remove and replace his limiters under his own power on three separate occasions.

Sha Gojyo

He is the hanyou (half-yōkai) companion of the Sanzō-ikkō ("Sanzō's party"), armed with a shakujō (which is the incorrect name given for a yuèyáchǎn). Its crescent blade is attached to a chain and he can control it for a mortally-accurate long-distance attack. In the anime, he's voiced by Hirata Hiroaki.

Gojyō is the product of a married yōkai father and his human mistress. His unusual genetic heritage resulted in blood-red hair and eyes, earning him the label "child of taboo" (kinki-no-ko). For a short part of his childhood, he lived with his widowed stepmother and half-brother, Jien (Dokugakuji). Gojyō tried his best to win his stepmother's love, but was unsuccessful in all attempts as his hair and eyes were a constant reminder of her husband's infidelity. When he was twelve, Gojyō's stepmother finally tried to kill him, the attack leaving two scars on his left cheek. He was saved by Jien, who did so by killing her, and both brothers went separate ways and left home.

Several years later, the 19-year-old Gojyō was walking home in the rain after a short gambling session and found a man face-down in the mud with his insides coming out - Cho Hakkai (Zhu Bajie's Saiyūki counterpart). He took the man in, got a doctor and gave him a place to stay. Hakkai became a permanent fixture in Gojyō's life from then on, performing the cooking and cleaning chores their home desparately needed. Hakkai also saved him from an encounter with gangsters when he was trying to help out a friend. It was the first time Hakkai took off his limiters. Later, Gojyō encountered Genjō-Sanzō (Sanzang) and Son Gokū (Sun Wukong) when they were looking for Hakkai, who had murdered a thousand yōkai and half a human village, and somehow the four ended up as the motley group heading West to Tenjiku (India) today. He still remains close friends with Hakkai, because they lived together for nearly three years. Enough so that Gojyō/Hakkai or Hakkai/Gojyō (58/85) remain two of the popular pairings in the fandom.

Gojyō is an incurable playboy, cracking dirty jokes at Sanzō and hitting on virtually any pretty girl in sight. He doesn't seem to have run out of pick-up lines yet, but he hasn't made a single lasting hit in the ten-plus volumes of manga, three anime series and a movie. He also has incredible luck in gambling games, with only Hakkai able to consistently beat him at a game of poker. His favourite target for jokes and insults is Gokū, with the two making the most noise in the jeep and often getting shot at by Sanzō for being irritating. He also smokes (his brand is Hi-Lites) and holds his liquor well. He gets touchy, however, when people talk about the color of his hair and eyes. The symbol on his headband in the manga means "pleasure".

Despite his rather irreverent attitude, Gojyō often takes on the big brother role. He genuniely cares for Gokū, despite all of their picking on each other, and he even has a soft spot for Sanzō, as proven during the "Kami-sama" arc of the manga and the anime. Hakkai is easily his best friend, and the two are often found in each other's company.

Son Goku

In Saiyuki, Son Goku, like the legendary Sun Wukong, is a deity who was imprisoned in a cave for five hundred years. When Sanzo was dispatched by the gods to journey to the west and stop a process that was causing the world's demons to go mad and turn on the humans with whom they had lived peacefully, Son Goku accompanied him, along with the demon Cho Hakkai and the half-demon Sha Gojyo.

Son Goku is a skilled fighter with the nyoi-bou (nyoi-bō). Although a deity, he is kept in human form with a golden power limiter that he wears as a coronet. When this is removed, he goes berserk and is unable to distinguish friend from foe. He is known for his voracious appetite. The power-limiting coronet concept is inspired by the original Chinese legend.

In the anime and manga, Goku is seen as a monster rather than a demon, and cannot die no matter how brutally he's beaten or how long he goes without food. He's a bottomless pit for food, and extremely affectionate. It has also been said that he was born from a rock. Thus, he has no parents and Genjo Sanzo acts as a guardian to him in his former and current life. Goku is very attached to Sanzo and if Sanzo ever gets hurt, Goku tends to lose it, and his fighting ability greatly increases.

He's voiced by Soichiro Hoshi, a good friend of Akira Ishida, who voices Hakkai. In the English dub, he's voiced by Greg Ayres, who was a fan of Goku even before the dub.

When splashed with cold water, Genma becomes a rather large panda, Ranma however, turns into a rather buxom read-haired girl. When splashed with hot water, they return to their original form.

To complicate matters, Genma has promised his old friend, Soun Tendo, to marry his son Ranma off to one of Tendo's three daughters. Kasumi, age 19, Nabiki, age 17, and Akane, age 16. When Ranma and Genma arrive in cursed form, nobody knows WHAT to think. To make things worse, Akane, a tom-boyish young girl, gets defeated in practice by Ranma-chan (female form), then stumbles onto Ranma's secret when she encounters Ranma-kun (male form) in the shower, both of them naked.

After sorting things out, Kasumi and Nabiki decide Akane should be Ranma's fiance, because "Akane hates boys, and since Ranma is half-girl...". Akane and Ranma get in a fight immediately, which ends up with Ranma calling Akane "un-cute", and Akane smashing Ranma over the head with a table. A beautiful start to a beautiful relationship.

Ranma 1/2 is a romantic comedy.

It all started when a delinquent 14-year-old boy named Yusuke Urameshi died in a car accident who tried to save a young boy's life. His spirit roamed around for a while and he decided to take a peek on his house to see what's going on after his death. Surprisingly, most people who went to his burial seem to be laughing. Most of them were Yusuke's enemies from school and his teachers who hated him, except the school's dean. The dean went to Yusuke's burial and mourned which also surprised Yusuke because he used to get scolded by him often. Atsuko and Keiko also mourned for him. Kuwabara came to his burrial with his blood boiling. His friends were already holding him back. Kuwabara still kept saying that he and Yusuke still have a score to settle. He said this with tears. Yusuke realized that there are still people out there who cared for him. After that sad scenario, Botan appeared and took him to the Spiritual World ( Rei Kai ) to be judged by the prince of Rei Kai, Koenma Daioh. Yusuke was surprised to see a toddler as the prince, but actually he's much older than Yusuke. After much talk, Koenma gave him an egg which Yusuke must take good care of. To do this, Yusuke must do good deeds in his world. If not, the egg will hatch and become a hideous monster that will eat his soul. So it happens to be that Yusuke's fate is in his own hands.

Koenma literally kept Yusuke's heart beating so that Yusuke's spirit can go back to his body if his job's done. And so, his spirit was sent back to Ningenkai with Botan, the diety of death, to guide him through. While Yusuke and Botan were watching Keiko from above as always, Keiko was held up by a gang from another school. Yusuke tried to save her but he could not do anything since he's only a spirit. Fortunately, Kuwabara and his gang appeared and helped Keiko. Yusuke and Botan were relieved. This conflict was reported to their dean's office which put Kuwabara's gang in big trouble. Kuwabara's friend, Eric, is currently working on a part-time job . As punishment for fighting, he was not allowed to resume his job anymore. Kuwabara immediately defended him and asked their sensei to punish him instead since he's the leader of their group. Their teacher will accept the group's apology in one condition: Kuwabara should not fight his foes in one week. If he ever finds out that they were fighting again, Eric would immediately be fired. This was a hard task to do but Kuwabara accepted the deal. They did not know that their sensei had a dark plan against them. Kuwabara decided to go home early to avoid those gangs from another school. He was not aware that his teacher was following him. Yusuke and Botan can see this. It was unfortunate for Kuwabara that he was blocked by the gangsters and challenged him to a fight. Kuwabara ran away and tried to ditch them. One moment he realized he did not want to run but to face them. He came back to them and told them to attack him as long as they want to but leave his friends alone. The teacher who was watching from afar was surprised and did not expect this to happen, and so he left to think of another plan. Yusuke was also surprised to what Kuwabara did since Yusuke always knew that Kuwabara was an idiot. And at that moment, Kuwabara was beaten up. He came to class with a black eye and lots of cuts in his face. When they saw their teacher, their teacher made another deal to them all. They all must pass the physical science test that he will give next week ( total of 100 points -->passing grade : 50 ) or Eric will get fired. The others had no problem in this test and found it an easy task , except Kuwabara. He only got 7 points in his last test in that subject. Yusuke was glad to hear this and found out that he got a higher grade than Kuwabara: he got 12 points at that test. In the afternoon, the gang from the other school still continues to tease and beat him , but he did not fight back. The next day, he came to school with two black eyes and alot of lumps on his face. His friends wanted to avenge him but they couldn't because they had a deal. Kuwabara studied hard to get ready for the test. Yusuke also helped Kuwabara review his lessons in Kuwabara's dream. When the day of the exam came, Kuwabara was reviewing as he walks to school. The gang , once again, planned to challenge him. Kuwabara saw them and ran away from them. As the gang were running to catch up with Kuwabara, they ran through two girls - the other hit her head against the wall and went unconscious while the other was down. Yusuke immediately possessed the unconscious one and fought those gangsters. The girl fought like Akane Tendo, she was really good. Yusuke left her body when the guys all fell down the ground. Kuwabara, thinking that he had ditched the guys, reached his school peacefully and took the exams with the others. In the afternoon, their teacher told him that he failed the test. Kuwabara found it impossible because he was pretty sure he passed the test , until he noticed that his last answer was erased. He got angry and attacked his sensei. Yusuke tried to stop him because he was not worth it. Somehow, Kuwabara felt the same way and decided not to hit his teacher. He walked away and took his failure. The dean realized what was going on.The dean asked the teacher if he was alright, then he told the teacher that erasing the answers from Kuwabara's paper was a serious case. He told him to fix this matter or he will be the one who's going to be expelled. It was good that the dean was in the faculty at that time and saw the teacher erased the answers. Kuwabara was informed by his friends that they all passed the test and Eric can still have his part-time job. Eric was very thankful for Kuwabara for everything that he had done for him. Yusuke was also thankful that he was able to stop Kuwabara from hitting their teacher, but Botan told him that Kuwabara did not hear anything from what he was saying to Kuwabara at that time, but instead Kuwabara felt what he was trying to say to him. Kuwabara suddenly looked up in the sky and thanked the spirits who helped him. [ EPISODE 5 ] Before he can be revived, an energy from a living being must be transfered to his body. This energy should be transfered through his mouth which means someone close to him must kiss him . If this was not done within 24 hours, it will take him 50 years before he can be revived again. Kuwabara and Keiko were the only ones close to him so one of them must kiss him ( Atsuko was hopeless to do so because she's always drunk ). Both of them dreamt about it which was done on purpose by Yusuke and Botan. Kuwabara was scared to death when he woke up from that dream. Keiko , on the other hand, did not believe her dream at first, and another thing is her mother got ill and she have to take care of her so she just ignored her dream.Time is running out and so Botan used Keiko's unconscious mother to talk to Keiko and tell the situation of Yusuke. After hearing this, Keiko rushed to Yusuke's house while Yusuke and Botan were watching above. Only a few minutes remaining, Keiko was able to reach Yusuke's house. As she entered the house, Keiko saw Yusuke's body glowing and ran towards him and kissed him which saved Yusuke's life. Yusuke was revived afterwards. The next day, he went to a coffee shop and found a group of students from another school waiting for Kuwabara. He was surprised seeing their leader to have horns, but he just ignored it. The leader told Kuwabara to steal magazines from a shop and bring them to him. When Kuwabara arrived, he gave the magazines but he paid for it. The gang's leader became furious and told him to kneel and apologize to them. Kuwabara did it as told in order to save "Chi-chi", his kitten. They went at the back of the shop and the leader told him to beat his friends until he says stop. Kuwabara could not do such a thing. Yusuke swiftly hit one of the the gangsters saved the kitten. Kuwabara and the others attacked while Yusuke chased the leader. When he punched him down, he saw a small youkai getting out from the gang leader's mouth. Yusuke caught it by hand. While he was wondering what it is, a girl's voice answered his question. The fortuneteller whom he talked to earlier walked slowly towards him and revealed her identity - it was Botan! Botan told Yusuke that he was appointed as a rei kai tantei in exchange of his resurrection. That was the start of his journey towards his fate.
Yusuke's first mission was to retrieve the three stolen artifacts of Rei Kai: the mirror, sword, and the orb, each possessing their certain powers. The names of the thieves were Gouki, Kurama, and Hiei. This was a serious matter for Koenma because if his father, Enma, would found out about this he could get really angry and possibly destroy Ningenkai. Koenma had no choice but to ask for Yusuke's help eventhough he's a beginner. Gouki was the first one that Yusuke faced. Gouki's body was as strong as steel and he could not defeat him at first. [ EPISODE 7 ] Since Yusuke can't beat Gouki's tough body, he waited until Gouki opens his mouth. Since his mouth is not as strong as steel, he pointed his rei gun at it and he was defeated. The entrapped souls were released. Yusuke has now re-possessed the first treasure. Exhausted and weak, he still tries to find the other two thieves in the city. Kurama appeared in the midst of the crowd and talked to Yusuke through telephathy. He told Yusuke to meet him in a hospital in three days. It was the time when the mirror can be used also ( full moon ). After three days, Yusuke went to the hospital and saw Minamino. There he met his sick mother, Shiori. Minamino explained that he wanted to use the mirror to cure her because there was no other way to save her life. It was also the reason why he joined the two thieves in the first place. In their midst of conversation, they were informed that Shiori was in critical condition. Minamino immediately used the mirror and he was ready to offer his life in return. Yusuke also offered his life and told the mirror to take his life instead. He could not bear to see a mother suffer by losing her son once more. The mirror released a huge beam of light and granted Minamino's wish without taking any life in return. Minamino rushed into Shiori's room and he was glad to see her recover. Yusuke has now re-possessed the second treasure. The last thief and the strongest one was Hiei , possessing the sword of darkness. Hiei kidnapped Keiko, knowing that she was close to Yusuke, to use her in exchange for the other two treasures. After hearing this , Yusuke and Botan went to the warehouse where Yusuke and Hiei would meet. Hiei surrendered Keiko in exchange for the mirror and orb. Just as Yusuke was about to make his move, Hiei told him to observe Keiko's forehead. As Yusuke and Botan looked at it, an eye was about to open. Botan immediately used her power to close it because once the eye fully opens, Keiko will become Hiei's follower. The only cure for the eye to disappear is the extract found inside the sword. Yusuke had no choice but to defeat him to save Keiko. Hiei's speed was tremendously good and it was no match for Yusuke's. But despite of this, Yusuke still managed to attack Hiei twice. Hiei decided to turn to his Jaganshi form. In this form he became stronger, and the eye in Keiko's forehead was opening fast. Botan tried her best in stopping it from opening eventhough her hands obtained alot of cuts. Just as Hiei was about to make his last move against Yusuke, Kurama suddenly appeared and took the attack. He also managed to hit Hiei in his jagan while defending Yusuke. He did this because Yusuke helped him cure his mother w/o taking his life. Kurama stayed back as Yusuke and Hiei continued their match. Yusuke used his rei gun towards Hiei and Hiei managed to evade it. Then suddenly, Hiei got hit at the back. The mirror , which was found behind him, reflected the rei gun attacking him directly at his back. The mirror was shattered because of it. Yusuke was lucky in this match. The eye on Keiko's forehead disappeared after he made her drink the extract from the sword. He had re-possessed the third treasure and returned all three to Koenma. And because the sword became rusty and the mirror was shattered, Enma found out about the robbery. And because the treasures were already returned, the punishment was light: Koenma got spanked.

Yusuke's next mission was to join the tournament in search for a successor of Genkai, master of the rei-kou-hadou-ken. He had to defeat the the evil youkai named Rando. If he wins the tournament, then he shall inherit Genkai's powers and destroy everything. Yusuke did not seem to have any interest about the tournament until he was offered to have tickets to see the World Fighting Championships. Kuwabara also went to the tournament after being told by someone that Genkai could help him solve some personal problems of his and how to become stronger. He saw Yusuke in the midst of the crowd ( there were alot of fighters who entered the tournament ) unexpectedly. They stayed together like partners. The tournament was not serious at first. The first activity was to draw the qualified competitors. If the small envelope they got had a red paper inside, they are automatically qualified. In fact, the paper will really turn red if one is deserving to become Genkai's successor. Yusuke and Kuwabara were qualified. The second activity was measuring the strength of the competitors. It was fun because they were like playing in an arcade area and they have to sing a song as a final measurement of strength. The next activity was to pass through a dangerous forest and reach the finish line. Their time was limited. Kuwabara reached the finish line first , and the others kept on coming until the time was up. Yusuke came out last and he was too late. But after knowing that he crossed the straight path and defeated the "bat king", Genkai made an exception. The next stage is to fight their opponents in the dark. It was in this fight when Kuwabara's rei ki was materialized into a sword of light, the Rei Ken, while he was fighting Musashi. This kind of power is present inside the person's body and it comes out if he's in danger. Kuwabara was surprised to see such power in him, he also won this round. Yusuke fought Sabano who wore a mask that can see through the dark and can scan his opponent's power. It was an unfair game ( because Yusuke couldn't see anything ) but Yusuke managed to win this round by using his rei gun towards the mask. He knew where his opponent was positioned because he placed a lighted cigarette ( used by Genkai ) in his opponent's belt.
The next match was Yusuke vs. Kazemaru. This time, they were in a field. Yusuke had a hard time fighting Kazemaru simply because Kazemaru is also a good fighter and he's also good in using his shuraken. Yusuke was only lucky to defeat him. While Yusuke was running to avoid the shurakens, he suddenly disappeard. Kazemaru was startled and he was the one attacked by his own shurakens instead. He didn't notice that Yusuke was running towards him, that's why when Yusuke disappeared , the shurakens hit him. Later on, Kuwabara and the others was amazed by Yusuke's technique by disappearing like that. Yusuke told them that it was no technique, he just fell to a pond.

The next match was Kuwabara vs. Shourin. Kuwabara wasn't able to defeat Shourin because Shourin transformed into a giant and he easily defeated Kuwabara. Being the last villain, Yusuke had no doubt that Shourin is Randou - the one he was looking for. Now, it was Shourin vs. Yusuke. Shourin eventually transformed into his real form as Randou. Randou has the ability to make his opponent become small ( about 3 inches ). Unfortunately, Yusuke became a victim but he managed to get back to his original form ( hmm..I forgot how he had done it though ). It was a very difficult battle because Randou was strong. When Yusuke got knocked out, Kuwabara's spirit gave Yusuke a boost of encouragement by insulting him and so, the fight went on with Randou. Still, Randou was a difficult youkai to beat. When Yusuke was lying on the ground unconscious ( knocked out by Randou's attacks ), Randou once again used the technique that transforms his opponents into small beings. After doing so, Randou was suprised to see that his surroundings got bigger. He realized that he was the one who became small and not Yusuke. Yusuke woke up and he was wondering why he couldn't hear anything. He found out that there was dirt inside his ear which is why he can't hear anything. Genkai explained that Randou was the one who transformed and not Yusuke because Yusuke did not hear the spell. And so, the spell bounced back at Randou. After hearing this, Yusuke literally stepped on Randou and then fell down on the ground with his exhausted body. Yusuke is the winner and he shall inherit Genkai's powers.
Being Genkai's student was not an easy task. Yusuke worked hard under her training and sometimes lose his temper and attacks her. Of course, it only made things worse for him. Six months later ( after Yusuke's training from Genkai ), Koenma received a note from the shiseijuu ( the four holy beasts ). The letter tells them that they wanted to stay in Ningenkai. If they will not accept, the shiseijuu will continue sending makai insects that possess humans and force them to destroy each other. Botan informed Yusuke about this and his next mission was to stop the four holy beasts and get the whistle which controls the insects. Kuwabara tagged along and swore to help Yusuke save the world. At this time, Hiei and Kurama came along. They were also sent by Koenma to help Yusuke accomplish his mission. The four( including Kuwabara ) went to the camp of the shiseijuu to face them .During the process, the shiseijuu already brainwashed many people and Susaku, the leader, planned to capture Keiko to get into Yusuke. Botan came for her rescue and stayed with her. The four beasts ( Byako, Genbu, Seiruu, and Susaku )were confronted by Kuwabara, Kurama, Hiei, and Yusuke respectively. Byako lost by falling from a cliff, Genbu was defeated by Kurama by destroying his power source, Seiruu was slashed 16 times by Hiei, and Susaku was defeated by Yusuke in battle with a little help from Genkai and Kuwabara. Yusuke got the whistle and the people who were brainwashed by the insects returned to normal afterwards.
After a few days of peace and serenity, they received a video tape from Koenma about an ice maiden imprisoned and tortured by an evil merchant, Tarukane, only to have more priceless pearls from the tears of the girl. The maiden's name is Yukina from Koorime, the younger sister of Hiei. From the moment Yusuke and Kuwabara saw the video, Kuwabara helplessly fell inlove with her and became more inspired and dedicated on saving her. Yusuke, Kuwabara, and Botan were on their to Tarukane's fortress along with Hiei who secretly followed them all the way. As they reached the merchant's place, they were attacked by a group of youkai syndicate who work for Tarukane. One of the group was a gay youkai who claims to be a woman. Yusuke , the one who confronted him, was very certain that the youkai he faced was a male because he touched the youkai's private parts to make sure. That was an interesting part of that episode. Anyway, as the three went deeper in the fortress to find Yukina, they confronted the Toguro brothers for the first time. Yusuke and Kuwabara worked together to defeat the brothers which made them successful. Yusuke shot his rei gun on Kuwabara's back and the rei gun brought Kuwabara ( holding his rei ken ) towards Toguro and then Toguro was hit by Kuwabara's rei ken as well as Yusuke's rei gun. By this technique, both the Toguro brothers were defeated and they managed to rescue Yukina. Hiei hit Tarukane many times with hate and anger. Yukina stopped him because she could not bear anymore bloodshed. Hiei did not tell her anything about their relationship as brother and sister, but he only told her that he is a friend. Yukina gave her deepest gratitude to all of them who saved her especially Kuwabara for risking his life for her. She was escorted back to the ice country of Makai to recover her strength. Kuwabara got sad because she was going away, but he was hoping to see her again soon.Several days had passed since their last mission was accomplished. Everyone seemed to be in top condition and everything was normal until an invitation from someone arrived. Toguro ( Ottoto ) himself faced Yusuke with delight. Yusuke was surprised to see him alive. They went to the top of a deserted building and talked. Toguro revealed his tremendous power and strength which made Yusuke unable to move while watching him destroy the surrounding debris. Toguro told him about the coming tournament, the Ankoku Bujutsukai. Toguro invited him and his friends, Hiei, Kurama, and Kuwabara, who were watching all along. When he left, fear started to rise in Yusuke knowing he cannot stand a chance against someone with that kind of strength. Genkai was also given an invitation by youkai messengers in her doujo. Koenma showed them the video tape that was recorded during Yusuke and Kuwabara's battle against the Toguro brothers. It was shown in the video that the Toguro brothers faked their defeat and they were secretly working for Sakyo, a wealthy gambler with evil intentions. It was all clear to them now that they knew what happened to the brothers after the fight. They all prepared for the coming tournament; Yusuke was trained under Genkai, Kuwabara was trained under Kurama and Hiei.

When the appointed day came, Hiei, Kurama, and Kuwabara were waiting for Yusuke. After a few minutes, Yusuke arrived with a companion in a mask ( the Fukumen ). The Fukumen was of no concern to others because they're too confident enough to themselves and so they boarded a ship heading to the place where the tournament will be held. On the ship, an unofficial tournament was held and the winner would become the qualifiers of the Ankoku Bujutsukai. This was done to make it more easier for them to decide who will be the qualified fighters for the tournament. While the tournament was being held, Yusuke was asleep ; exhausted from Genkai's training. Even when the ship was turning uproar, nothing can wake him up so the others were trying their best to protect him from the beasts who tried to attack him while he was sleeping. One moment when a beast suddenly got him and was about to beat him, Yusuke punched the beast several times. Awake? no, only sleep-walking. When the beast was already down, he was still punching constantly in one direction and shouting Genkai's name and telling her to fight back. After a few seconds, he fell down sleeping again. The Urameshi team were qualified to join the Ankoku since they were almost the only ones left on the ship. A few hours later,the ship reached an island with luxurious buildings, hotels, stores, etc.. An island where wealthy people gamble. The Urameshi Team departed the ship and went to their reserved room in a fancy hotel. They entered their room and relaxed themselves from a tiring journey. Surprisingly, Yusuke was still asleep. While they were having some coffee, an unauthorized guest appeared in the room. His name is Rinku, a kid who's member of the Rokuyukai Team. Then another youkai appeared and his name is Zeru, the leader of the Rokuyukai team. He came for Rinku and left. He also gave some advice and some pointers for the coming tournament to them before he and Rinku left.
The Ankoku Bujutsukai started with a blast. Hundreds of youkai beings bought their tickets to see the much-awaited tournament once in a generation. They shall witness who will be the best of the best in the world of Martial Arts. The tournament was held in a medium-sized dome with no roof on top of the stage. The stage was surrounded by audiences so everyone could see the fight. The appointed time finally came to begin the competition. Koenma and George Saotome were already seated with the audience to sponsor the Urameshi Team. The Urameshi Team competed with the Rokuyukai Team ; this was their first match. Of course , the leader of the this team, Yusuke, was still asleep. Almost everyone seemed to be getting annoyed with his sleeping because they thought Yusuke was just taking all of it lightly. With this situation, Kurama, Hiei, Kuwabara, and the fukumen started the fight without Yusuke. He finally woke up during their next match. Astro To Launch 7 New Channels Including Animax

Pay-TV operator Astro will announce plans today to add 7 new channels to its current line-up of 56, a customer service official said. Astro is set to announce an Indonesian drama channel ‘Aruna’, an Asian and European movie channel called ‘Kirana’ and a domestic cartoon channel named ‘Ceria’, the official said yesterday. Astro will also unveil ‘CCTV4’ and ‘WATV’, two channels devoted to Chinese-language programming besides Zee TV, an Indian channel providing entertainment in Hindi, and Japanese cartoons on Animax.

DRAGON BALL(The Beginning)

Dragon Ball is a Japanese manga by Akira Toriyama serialized in the weekly anthology magazine, Weekly Shonen Jump, from 1984 to 1995 and originally collected into 42 individual books called Tankobon. In 2004, the manga was re-released in a 34 volume collection (called Kanzenban) which included a slightly rewritten ending, all new original covers, and original color artwork from its Weekly Jump run.
In the US, the manga was first released as two American-style comic books: Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z starting in 2000 (the split corresponds to the two different anime series, though the original Japanese manga does not distinguish between them). This style of release was unsuccessful due to its large size and expensive cost ($2.95 for an issue of 2, and later 3, chapters), and both series were cancelled in 2003. The Dragon Ball Z manga was transitioned into a launch title for the new US edition of the Shonen Jump anthology, starting in January 2003. In parallel to these releases, VIZ Media has released all 42 volumes (nearly matching the first Japanese set) in English. Viz titles the second part of the manga Dragon Ball Z to reduce confusion for North American audiences. The series is published in the United Kingdom by Gollancz Manga.
The story of Dragon Ball follows the life of Son Goku, a monkey-tailed boy loosely based on the traditional Chinese folk tale Journey to the West, from his life and adventures as a child all the way up to being a grandfather. During his life, he fights many battles and eventually becomes the strongest martial artist in the universe (in Dragon Ball GT). He is not without help, however: the comic boasts a large ensemble cast of martial artist heroes and villains which provide the conflict that drives the story.
The eponymous Dragon Balls are one component of the universe, but are not the focus of most of the plot lines of the title. The Dragon Balls themselves are seven magical spheres which are scattered across the world. When assembled together, they can be used to summon the dragon Shenlong who will grant one wish (within limits). After the wish is granted, the balls are scattered again across the landscape and become inert for a year. In times past, it would take generations to search the world and gather the balls. In the beginning of the story however, a 16 year old genius girl named Bulma has created a "Dragon Radar" to detect the balls and making the process far easier than it was intended to be.

SAMURAI 7

Samurai 7 is based on Kurosawa Akira's famous movie, "Seven Samurai". Far distant future, on a planet that might have been called "Earth", there was a war between samrais who mechanized their bodies. After the long war, people have retrieved a modest peace. In those days, people in Kanna Village are suffering from the Nobuseri, who are the ruined samurais. After the war ended, they lost their purpose to fight, and they've been robbing the village of their crops and women. Because they don't have any way to fight against them, they have to obey Nobureri's order.One year, before harvest season, Gisaku, a head of the village, propose that they will hire samrais to protect them from Nobuseri.Riki, who is a young boy full of energy, Kirara and Komachi, twin priestesses, go to a town to look for samurais to help them.
